The Canyon Hydroelectric Plant, located in Seguin, Texas, operates under the Texas Reliability Entity (NERC Region) and utilizes hydraulic turbine technology to generate power. With an operating capacity of 6 MW, this unregulated facility is managed by the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority, which also holds majority ownership. The plant harnesses water as its fuel source and primarily supplies electricity to the City of New Braunfels, Texas, within the ERCOT power control area.
