Butler is a battery energy storage facility located in Hope Mills, North Carolina, within the SERC Reliability Corporation region. The plant operates with a capacity of 10 megawatts and is integrated into the Duke Energy Progress power control area. The facility is managed by the North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation, which also serves as the majority owner and holding company. As an unregulated entity, Butler leverages advanced energy storage technology to enhance grid reliability and support renewable energy integration.
