Brownsville Peaking Power is a gas turbine power plant located in Brownsville, Tennessee, within the SERC Reliability Corporation region. With an operating capacity of 512 MW, the facility plays a crucial role in meeting peak electricity demands for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), which is both the plant operator and majority owner. The plant operates in an unregulated environment, utilizing natural gas as its primary fuel source, and relies on the ANR Pipeline Company for its gas supply. As part of TVA’s power control area, Brownsville Peaking Power contributes to the reliability and stability of the regional electricity grid.
