Broad River Energy Center is a gas turbine power plant located in Gaffney, South Carolina, within the SERC Reliability Corporation region. With an operating capacity of 877.9 MW, the facility is managed by Onward Energy, which is also its majority owner under the holding company IIF US Holding 2 GP. The plant operates in an unregulated environment and primarily supplies power to Duke Energy Progress, while being part of the Duke Energy Carolinas power control area. The facility utilizes gas as its fuel source, contributing to the region’s energy needs.
