Bernice Lake is a gas turbine power generation facility located in Kenai, Alaska, within the jurisdiction of the Alaska Systems Coordinating Council. The plant operates with a capacity of 71 megawatts and is managed by Chugach Electric Association, which also serves as the power control area. The facility is unregulated, allowing for operational flexibility in a competitive energy market. The majority ownership is held by the Alaska Electric & Energy Cooperative, with the Homer Electric Association as the owner holding company. The plant utilizes gas as its primary fuel source, contributing to the region’s energy supply and supporting local demand.
