Acorn I Energy Storage is a battery storage facility located in Newbury Park, California, within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council region. With an operating capacity of 2 MW, the plant is managed by esVolta, which is also the majority owner and holding company. The facility operates in an unregulated environment and primarily serves the California Independent System Operator’s power control area. Its energy storage capabilities are utilized by Southern California Edison Company as the primary power purchaser, contributing to the region’s energy management and sustainability efforts.
