Peak Energy, Digital Edge, and Stonepeak to build 500MW data centre capacity, advancing renewable energy goals.

Peak Energy, Digital Edge, and Stonepeak, a US-based “alternative investment firm” focused on infrastructure assets, including data centres and renewable energy, have agreed to build 500MW of new capacity for data centres in support of their goals to decarbonise 1GW of power supply and generate over 1,300GWh of electricity annually. The new capacity will support Digital Edge’s goals to reduce power supply by 1GW, and generate more electricity annually by 2025. In December 2023, Peak Energy will partner with Korean clean energy developer TOPINFRA to develop over 500MW solar PV and battery energy storage system assets in Korea. Renewables are increasingly being used to mitigate or offset energy demands of data centres.
