JD Vance Criticizes Michigan EV Battery Plant, Claims Democrats’ Climate Law Aids China at Auto Industry’s Expense

Republican vice presidential nominee, JD Vance, has criticized a planned electric vehicle battery plant in Michigan, owned by a U.S. subsidiary of a China-based company, as part of his campaign against the Democrats’ climate law and the Inflation Reduction Act. The GOP argues that the act is benefiting China, while the law is encouraging investment in U.K. manufacturing in the U.C. and encouraging new investments in the manufacturing sector. Vance accused Vice President Kamala Harris of aiding China to destroy and replace our auto industry from the inside out.
