The committee’s chairman, Bruce Westerman, and his colleagues, GOP Reps. Pete Stauber of Minnesota and Paul Gosar of Arizona, claim that Interior is blocking their investigation of leases tied to the proposed Twin Metals mine in the Iron Range. The lawmakers have stated they will use “every tool” to administer effective oversight and fulfill their responsibility to the American people.
