Governor Hochul Solicits Large-Scale Renewable Energy Projects to Achieve 70% Clean Electricity by 2030.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has launched a solicitation for large-scale, land-based renewable energy projects in the state to support the state’s goal of reaching 70% of its electricity from renewables by 2030. The eighth annual Renewable Energy Standard request for proposals, managed by NYSERDA, includes provisions such as inflation indexing, labor requirements, and stakeholder engagement. The solicitation will be conducted in two steps, with eligibility applications due by July 15 and final bids by August 8, 2024. Selected proposers are expected to receive conditional award notifications in September. The Alliance for Clean Energy New York anticipates a strong response and hopes to award projects quickly to help meet its renewable energy targets.
