The Tunnel project, identified by EIA Plant Code 557, is a battery energy storage initiative operated by H2O Power Limited Partnership, a subsidiary of CVC Advisers Company (Luxembourg) Sarl. This unregulated project is owned by FirstLight Power Resources, with backing from the Public Sector Pension Investment Board. Located in Preston, within the ISO New England power control area, the project boasts a capacity of 16.02 MW. Utilizing advanced battery technology, the Tunnel project is expected to come online in 2027, contributing to the region’s energy storage capabilities and enhancing grid reliability.
