The European Commission has approved Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners’ proposed acquisition of stakes in a 957-MW portfolio of US wind farms from Denmark-based Ørsted A/S. The Danish energy group is selling stakes in four onshore wind parks for a total of roughly USD 300 million (EUR 322.8m). The transaction, arranged in March, is not expected to raise any competition concerns as it will have a limited impact on the European Economic Area. The portfolio includes the 121-MW Ford Ridge wind park in Illinois, 268-MW Helena Wind and 367-MW Western Trail Wind in Texas, and the 200-MW Sunflower wind farm in Kansas. As previously announced, �’rsted will continue to operate the plants and provide asset management services.
