Consumers Energy to Build 250-MW Solar Park in Muskegon County, Powering 40,000 Homes by 2026.

Consumers Energy, a Michigan energy provider, has announced plans to build a 250-MW solar park in partnership with the Muskegon County Resource Recovery Centre, set to power 40,000 homes by 2026. The project aligns with Consumers Energy’s goal of adding 8,000 MW of solar energy by 2040. The solar park will be located on approximately 1,900 acres of land within the Resource Recovery Center’s footprint, in collaboration with Moorland Township. Consumers Energy will lease the land and take ownership and operation of the project. The Solar Farm is expected to benefit users of the Musokegon County wastewater system, Moorland township, and the Ravenna School District.
