Vietnamese photovoltaics specialist Boviet Solar Technology Co Ltd has chosen the North Carolina city of Greenville as the site for its first solar panel and cells manufacturing facility in North America, investing a total of USD 294 million (EUR 274.4m). The company plans to establish the factory in two phases, with a plan to start mass production in the first quarter 2025. The factory will produce the company’s TOPCon N-Type cell, technology-based monofacial and bifacial solar panels for residential, commercial and industrial clients and developers of utility-scale projects. The new site is expected to create around 908 skilled jobs.
