The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has hired David Zhang, a senior official with years of fundraising experience, to help recruit donors and raise money for the Foundation for America’s Public Lands. Zhang will be responsible for developing and executing successful fundraising strategies and cultivating a network of philanthropic donors. The Foundation was established by Congress in 2017 and has only been operational the past two years. Its mission is to raise private funding matching federal appropriations to address public lands management issues across the 245 million acres it oversees.
