US distributed generation platform Aspen Power Partners, which has US private equity firm Carlyle among its backers, has purchased a 41-MW DC portfolio of commercial solar projects in New York and Pennsylvania from Solar Site Developers. The acquisition includes eight ground-mounted schemes currently in the engineering design stage and are expected to enter construction in the coming months. Once in operation, the projects in Pennsylvania will be net-metered under the state’s Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard Act and will provide bill credits to utility customers via the Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) programme.
