Vesper Energy Sells Deer Creek Solar and Storage Project in California to Fortune 500 Energy Company

US renewables developer-operations Vesper Energy has sold its Deer Creek solar and storage site in Tulare County, California, to a Fortune 500 energy company. The sale was announced today, with the buyer being unnamed. Deer Creek, a solar-plus-storage project located on 378 acres in the county, has a potential for up to 50 MWac of solar and 50 MW of energy storage capacity. In 2021, Vesper signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with California power firm Desert Community Energy (DCE) for the supply of all electricity generated from the Deer Creek plant. The project was supposed to begin in 2022, with power generation set to start the following year. However, it has been delayed several times since then.
