US Clean Power Capacity Surges 91% in Q2, Adding Over 11,000 MW of Solar, Wind, and Storage.

US developers installed 11,015 MW of utility-scale clean power capacity in Q2, according to a report by the American Clean Power Association (ACP). This is a 91% increase from the 5,772 MW added in the second quarter of 2023. Solar deployment was 6,711 MW, onshore wind installations grew 41% year-over-year to 1,370 MW, and storage additions were 2,933 MW/10,431 MWh, bringing the US’ grid-facing energy storage in operation to 21,580 MW/60,387 MWh. At the end of Q2 the US had 283,578 MW of clean power capability, with more than 14 GW under construction.
