U.S. Solar Manufacturing Hits Record Growth, Projected Capacity to Double to 438 GW by 2029.

A report by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Wood Mackenzie, two leading energy industry groups, has revealed that a record 11 GW of new solar power module manufacturing capacity entered service in the first quarter of 2018, marking the largest quarter of solar manufacturing growth in U.S. history. The report also revealed that total U.,S. solar module manufacturing capability is now more than 26 GW annually. The U., however, faces challenges such as availability of labor, high-voltage equipment constraints, and trade policy uncertainty. The Solar Market Insight Q2 2024 report predicts that total US solar capacity will double over the next five years to reach 438 GW by 2029.
