U.S. Renewable Energy Investment Hits Record $88 Billion in 2023, Driven by New Financing and Policies

U.S. renewable energy investment reached a record $88 billion in 2023, rebounding from a decrease in interest rates in 2022. The findings were presented at the BloombergNEF clean energy summit in New York. Lending to renewables decreased in 2022 due to central banks raising interest rates to combat inflation. However, investment rebounded last year, driven by new financing strategies by developers and utilities and increased government policies aimed at stimulating clean energy investment.
