Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, may be easing his criticism of electric vehicles and EV tax credits in an effort to gain influence with high-profile supporter, Elon Musk, who he has offered to join in his administration if he wins in November. Trump has also hinted at the possibility of eliminating the $7,500 tax credit for EV purchases in Democrats’ 2022 climate law. Despite promising to scrap Biden administration rules promoting EV but has been more cautious about the credits.
