Trina Storage, a China-based company that manufactures its own lithium iron phosphate (LFP) lithium-ion battery cells, has launched a cell-to-AC BESS solution in the US market. The company also provides racks, cabinets and enclosures. Trina Storage’s cells include 306Ah and 314Ah large-format prismatic LFP cells, which are currently manufactured outside the US. The firm aims to increase its total energy storage manufacturing capacity to more than 20GW by the end of 2024. However, it has also signed its first project deal in Germany, with 35MWh of its first-generation Elementa cabinets, power conversion system (PCS) technology from manufacturer Power Electronics and associated software and controls, to a project owned by investor Obton.
