Supreme Court to Hear Michigan Oil Pipeline Dispute

The Supreme Court has agreed to take up a years-long dispute over an oil pipeline in Michigan, but rejected Exxon Mobil’s request for an intervention in a decade-old dispute over a record pollution fine. The court also directed lower courts to resolve some pending petitions based on its decisions this term. Other cases include a dispute over which court should have jurisdiction to determine if Enbridge can continue to operate its Line 5 oil pipeline, which has raised concerns about potential oil spills into the Great Lakes.
