Sunrun’s Energy Storage Attachment Rate Reaches 45% Amid Concerns Over California’s Net Metering Changes for 2024.

Sunrun’s energy storage attachment rate for residential solar hit 45% in 2023, according to the US Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). The SEIA has expressed concern about the sector’s prospects in 2024, due to changes to California’s net metering policy. This has led Sunrun to invest heavily in solar-plus-storage projects in the second half of 2023. The company’s policy to become a “storage-first company” was announced in November.
