Solar Energy Market Set to Triple by 2028, Boosting Clean Energy Goals and Community Benefits Across U.S.

Solar energy is becoming more accessible as the United States aims to meet its clean energy and climate change mitigation goals. Projections suggest that the solar market will triple by 2028, reaching an impressive 380 GW of installed solar capacity. This means delivering on clean energy goals for communities across the country and installing 938,220,000 solar modules in the US over the next five years. Despite efforts to address opposition from local communities, these concerns can often be largely unfounded. Strategic site selection is essential for solar developers to identify ideal locations that also positively impact the community. Solar projects can also provide valuable resources for farm operations, providing safe grazing areas for sheep and protecting local pollinator populations, while reducing high electricity costs.
