Shannon Estenoz Faces Tough Senate Confirmation Battle Amid Past Rejection of Nominee by Joe Manchin

Shannon Estenoz, the current assistant secretary for fish, wildlife and parks at the Interior Department, is likely to face an uphill climb in the Senate. Her nomination to replace Laura Daniel-Davis, whose nomination was previously rejected by Energy and Natural Resources Chair Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) last year. Estenz was confirmed by unanimous consent for her current position in 2021.
