Senate Republicans Introduce Resolution to Overturn Costly Biden Administration Energy Rule Impacting Oil Drilling on Public Lands

Senate Republicans are seeking to overturn a recent administration energy rule that significantly increases costs for oil companies to drill on public lands. Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) has introduced a Congressional Review Act resolution, S.J. Res. 78, which would kill the Interior Department’s proposal using the CRA. The rule would increase the cost of new oil and gas leases from $10,000 to $150,000. Daine, who leads the Senate’s campaign arm, accused President Joe Biden of embarking on an anti-American energy war path.
