The Environment and Public Works Committee is set to host a hearing focusing on different waste management systems. The hearing will cover perspectives from state and local recycling and reuse infrastructure, and will also focus on federal programs aimed at driving the U.S. towards a circular economy, where waste can be repurposed to eliminate any need for virgin materials. In March, the Senate passed two bills supporting this idea.
