Senate Democrats’ Vote Crucial for Bipartisan Nuclear Energy Bill Ahead of Thursday’s Deadline, Risking Memorial Day Delay.

The fate of a major bipartisan nuclear energy bill could hinge on a vote by a few Senate Democrats. The bill is being pushed for approval by Senate Environment and Public Works Chair Tom Carper (D-Del.) and ranking member Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) as leaders aim to pass the legislation as soon as Thursday. If any senator objects, the bill would have to wait until after the Memorial Day recess.
