Senate Confirms David Rosner to FERC Amid Bipartisan Support, Faces Opposition from Some Democrats Over Gas Infrastructure

The Senate confirmed David Rosner to be a member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) with bipartisan support. However, there was opposition from some Democrats due to Rosner’s past support for natural gas infrastructure. Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Ed Markey (D-Mass) were among three members of the Democratic caucus to oppose Rosner. Sen. Tim Kaine (D) also voiced concerns about approval of the Mountain Valley pipeline. The Senate plans to vote on another FERC nominee.
