The Senate has approved a bill to aid conservation efforts for migratory birds, H.R. 4389, which would renew the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act for another five years. The bill would fund projects in the Western Hemisphere and provide competitive grants for matters such as habitat conservation and research and monitoring. It is sponsored by Rep. MarÃa Elvira Salazar (R-Fla). The House passed the bill last week.
