Sen. Whitehouse to Hold 17th Hearing on Climate Change’s Impact on National Security Amid Oil Company Controversy.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (RhRhRh Island Democrat) is set to hold a hearing on climate change, focusing on its threat to national security and military preparedness. This marks the 17th time the Senate Budget Committee chair has held such a hearing. The hearing comes after Whitehouse presided over the release of internal documents from leading oil and gas companies indicating their involvement in climate warming. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) the Budget Committee ranking member, countered that Democrats are more likely to accuse oil companies of conspiracy and raise gas prices than work with Republicans on climate policy proposals.
