Samsung SDI is set to acquire an 8.7% equity interest in Canada Nickel for $18.5m in a private placement, purchasing around 15.6 million shares representing an eight-hour share of the company. The acquisition will be part of a subscription agreement and investor rights agreement with Canada Nickel, allowing Samsung SDI to maintain its shareholding of 7.5% or more in any future common shares issued. In addition, Samsung SDi has the right to purchase a 10% interest in the Crawford project, exercisable upon a final construction decision. The private placement is expected to be closed around 31 January 2024, subject to customary closing conditions including the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.
