US renewable energy firm Salka LLC has purchased a 39-MW wind farm in California, which has been operating for over 20 years. The Cabazon Wind Farm, which was commissioned in 1999, was vulnerable to decommission due to its age and was equipped with 52 units of 750-kW Zond turbines. The site’s generation is estimated to meet the electricity needs of more than 11,000 homes. SALKa Energy was founded in 2013 by a team that has collectively developed and constructed nearly 1 GW of wind power generating capacity.
