Twenty-four Republican state attorneys general are urging the Supreme Court to immediately halt EPA’s rule curbing emissions from the power sector, which targets the nation’s second-largest source of greenhouse gas emissions. The application was led by West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. This comes after a lower court declined to stop the EPA rule. The attorneys general have asked the court, just as they did in 2016 to block EPA’s Clean Power Plan, which they later overturned in 2022.
