Rep. Grijalva Calls for GAO Review of National Park Service’s Climate Change Efforts and Cultural Resource Protection

Rep. Raúl Grijalva, the top Democrat on the House Natural Resources Committee, has requested the Government Accountability Office to review the National Park Service’s work on climate change and its protection of the nation’s cultural resources. Grijallva, who described the NPS as the lead federal agency responsible for preserving the country’s diverse cultural heritage, urged the agency’s efforts to model cultural resource vulnerability assessments in areas of historic significance.
