The bill is aimed at helping victims of hurricanes, wildfires, and the East Palestine, Ohio, train derailment. The most recent successful discharge petition was in 2015 by the Export-Import Bank. Steube called for the Senate to act swiftly once H. R. 5873 passes the House.
