Rep. Doug Lamborn Announces Retirement from Congress, Will Focus on Armed Services Committee Priorities Until January.

Colorado Republican Rep. Doug Lamborn, a longtime senior member of the House Natural Resources Committee and its current vice chair, is retiring from Congress. Lamborn announced on a radio show that he will serve out his term that ends next January but will not run for reelection. He plans to focus on House Armed Services Committee priorities like hypersonic vehicles and modernizing nuclear weapons. This follows a trend of retiring more than three dozen House lawmakers since the start of the year. LambORN was previously chair of the Natural Resources Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources and later led its Water, Oceans and Wildlife Subcommittee. He frequently clashed with Obama administration leadership, including over the 2016 Stream Protection Rule and a lead sponsor of the 2017 legislation that successfully overturned it.
