Rep. Clay Higgins Introduces Bill to Overturn Biden EPA Rule Reducing Carcinogenic Emissions from Industrial Plants

Rep. Clay Higgins, a Louisiana Republican, has introduced legislation to kill a Biden EPA rule targeting over 200 industrial plants emitting potential carcinogens. The Congressional Review Act resolution, H.J. Res. 161, would overturn the rule, which is projected to reduce emissions of harmful air pollutants by over 6,200 tons a year. The resolution had no co-sponsors as of Wednesday afternoon. Higgins has been outspoken critic of President Joe Biden’s environmental and climate rules, including the administration’s “radical Green New Deal policies” that have undermined American energy production and reliance on foreign nations for critical energy resources.
