The race for the top Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee has begun, with two candidates already announcing bids. The position is being vacated by Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash). The House GOP policy retreat in West Virginia provided an early audition for the candidates. Representatives from Brett Guthrie and Bob Latta used the retreat’s Greenbrier resort to lobby for the position.
