Podesta Confident Inflation Reduction Act Will Endure Despite Potential Trump Victory in November Election

Top White House climate official, John Podesta, has expressed confidence that the Inflation Reduction Act, a law designed to address rising temperatures, will survive if President Joe Biden loses the November election. Speaking at the BloombergNEF summit, Podesta said that the IRA had created new jobs and investment that would make it difficult to repeal if former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, wins a second term. Other climate measures, including EPA’s new pollution rules on power plants, cars and heavy trucks, could also be repealed if Trump wins.
