PNWH2 Association Secures $27.5 Million to Launch Hydrogen Economy Program in Pacific Northwest, Promising 10,000 Jobs.

The Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association (PNWH2 Association) has secured funding for the first phase of its hydrogen economy program, receiving up to $27.5 million from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The PNWH2 association, which covers Washington, Oregon, and Montana, aims to establish a robust hydrogen infrastructure and economy. The initial phase will focus on planning and analysis to ensure the project’s technical and financial viability. The funding will be supplemented by up to €125 million from industry partners. The primary focus will be on projects within Washington and Oregon, targeting eight specific areas across the three states. The association projects significant economic benefits, including the creation of over 10,000 jobs and the development of workforce education programs.
