Plug Power Launches Largest US Green Hydrogen Plant Amid Financial Recovery and $1.6 Billion DOE Loan Agreement.

Plug Power Inc. has started production at a large-scale hydrogen plant in Woodbine, Ga. The company is touting this as the largest liquid “green” hydrogen facility in the US. The plant is expected to reach its full capacity of 15 tons of liquid hydrogen per day within the next three to four weeks. Additionally, the company has completed a term sheet negotiation with the US Department of Energy for a $1.6 billion loan facility. This news came two months after Plug Power warned investors that the company could run out of cash, which led to a 40% drop in the company’s shares. However, shares rebounded following the announcement of the plant’s operation and plans to raise capital by selling up to $1 billion in stock at the market.
