Pennsylvania Launches Largest Solar Project, Producing 220 Megawatts and Generating $17 Million in Tax Revenue.

The largest solar project in Pennsylvania’s history was launched by Mill Creek Renewables and the AES Corp. The project, which includes 485,000 panels spread across two fields near the Maryland line, is producing 220 megawatts of renewable energy, enough to power 38,060 homes. It is expected to generate $17 million in tax revenue throughout its lifespan, with two-thirds allocated to local school districts. Critics, including Karen Feridun, co-founder of Better Path Coalition, have praised the project, highlighting its potential for cleaner power and safer jobs in rural communities.
