Our Children’s Trust Files Second Federal Lawsuit Against EPA for Violating Young Californians’ Rights to a Healthy Life

The law firm Our Children’s Trust, which won a landmark climate victory on behalf of young Montanans in a previous case, is filing its second federal lawsuit against the federal government, accusing the EPA of violating young Californians’ constitutional rights to a healthy life. The lawsuit alleges that the EPA discriminates against children by allowing dangerous levels of greenhouse gas emissions. It also criticizes EPA for refusing to set a national pollution standard for carbon dioxide. This is the second federal challenge and the latest in a series of youth climate cases handled by Our Children’s Trust. The firm hopes this narrow focus will deter the agency from fighting back against climate change.
