Origis Energy Secures $344M Loan for Major Solar and Energy Storage Project in Mississippi

Origis Energy has secured a USD-344m loan from MUFG to finance a 200 MWac solar and 200 MWh energy storage project in Lowndes County, Mississippi. The project will provide 500 MWac of solar and 600 MWh of battery storage, providing electricity with grid resiliency for a 25-year period. The loan will cover construction and will be converted into a long-term loan covering the project’s entire operational life. Origis Energy also secured an additional USD-343m from Mizuho Bank to finance the Golden Triangle III project. The funds will be used to construct and operate the three projects, which will also provide electricity under a power purchase agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority.
