US renewable platform Origis Energy has begun work on a solar-plus-storage site in Mississippi, with 150 MW of solar and 50 MW of battery storage. The project, called Golden Triangle II, has a total capacity of 150 MW and is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2024 and will generate enough electricity to power 126,000 homes. Two more sites are being built by Origis in the state, providing a totalcapacity of 550 MW ofSolar and 150MW of storage. These projects are being supported by power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Construction services are being provided by RES, and utility-scale battery storage is provided by Mitsubishi Power Americas. The projects are predicted to have an economic benefit of over $145 million over their lifespan.
