Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM) has signed two groundbreaking memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with American firm ‘Eden Geopower’ and Omani Earth Sciences Consultancy Center. These agreements mark a pivotal moment in Oman’s pursuit of geologic hydrogen exploration, a critical component of its comprehensive energy transition plan. The MoUs serve as catalysts for scientific dialogues, preliminary studies, and the identification of suitable locations for experimental research in the field. The US Department of Energy is actively exploring the potential associated with geology hydrogen production. The collaboration between Oman and the US in this pivotal area also reinforces the importance of international partnerships in addressing global energy challenges. Oman’s journey toward becoming one of the world’s leading producers of clean hydrogen has already seen substantial progress.
