Octopus Energy Invests in Ocergy to Boost Floating Offshore Wind Technology and Market Expansion Efforts.

The generation arm of UK’s Octopus Energy has invested in Ocergy, a US-based company with operations in France, a specialist in the design and production of foundations for floating offshore wind. The investment is made on behalf of OctopusEnergy’s offshore wind fund, Vector, which will be launched at the end of 2023. It is expected to help commercialise Ocersgy’s technology and support expansion into new markets. The company is using a “hyper-local” supply chain approach and is creating efficiencies through its lighter and modular designs. Dominique Roddier, CEO of Ocerory, said the collaboration with Octopus energy will empower the company to scale up its operations and focus on delivering pre-commercial and large-scale floating offshore projects.
