Nova Clean Energy, the North American renewables development platform of investment firm Bluestar Energy Capital, has acquired HyFuels, a Texas Gulf Coast-based renewables project. The project will provide 1 GW of mid-to-late-stage wind and solar developments, and an early-stage green ammonia project. It was acquired from BNB Renewable Energy (BNB), which started developing the scheme in 2020 for an undisclosed amount. Nova and BNB have been partnering on the Hyfuels complex since mid-2023, completing environmental surveys, planning grid connections and ordering equipment. Launched in 2020, Nova has a project pipeline of over 5 GW across eight states and multiple power markets.
